A tour of the Corniche
The State of Qatar is a country in Western Asia and is located on the southern side of the Persian Gulf. It is located in the north of the Arabian Peninsula and has only a land border with this country and is completely surrounded by the Persian Gulf. The capital of the country is the port of Doha, where 85% of the country’s 3 million people live. Of the total population of the country, only half a million are Qataris and the rest are immigrants from other countries who have come to this country solely for labor. Iranians make up a significant part of the immigrants, who are in a much better position than the rest of the immigrants, thanks to the good relations of the Qatari government with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Qatar’s economy is very strong, with the third richest natural gas reserves in the world. Qatar is classified by the United Nations as a country with very high human resource development. Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup from November 21 to December 18, 2022. The port of Doha is a beautiful and developed city with a mix of modern and traditional architecture, which, according to its residents, is constantly changing and evolving. The main, largest, most important and most beautiful part of Doha is Corniche Street in District 11, which stretches along the coast of the city. All the political, tourist, economic, sports and artistic centers of the capital are located on this street. The photos in this exhibition are the result of a 4-hour tour of this street by Alireza Attaryani.
